Alright, so I'm planning to take the plunge this holiday season to get myself a PS4. I want to trade in my PS3, but I have a few questions before hand. I also have a bunch of PS1 games on my PS3. No because it's a PS4 not a PS3. Also the PS4 uses a completely different architecture compared to the Cant play downloaded games on ps4 cell vs x86 so emulation would not be an easy thing.

Any PS3 game that runs on the PS4 would have to be modified to work with the new architecture and that will likely require some work on the developer's part. Yeah, definitely keep your PS3 around. I downloaded Contrast and Resogun, and when I click on them to play them this prompt comes up "Cannot start the application. The PS4 is not connected to the internet and cannot verify the license for the application" But my PS4 IS connected to the internet. Only the non-primary PS4 locks digital games. Like Xbox, on PS4 you can have two machines play the games but only ONE MACHINE can be primary and not require online. The second PS4/Xbox require online to verify who you are, which sucks, but it's to prevent game sharing with other users/family members/friends. So any games I downloaded off the playstation store are locked and I cannot play them. There’s apparently another ps4 linked to my account set as my primary console and I cannot deactivate it because the deactivation was already used, but it wasn’t me that did that.
